Your Assessment

To achieve accreditation under QSPP, your pharmacy will undergo an onsite assessment. Accreditation is granted for a three-year cycle, with a virtual mid-cycle halfway through the cycle

Scheduling your assessment

Once your pharmacy is registered and ready for assessment, EY will contact you to schedule your onsite assessment. Assessments are conducted onsite by QSPP’s assessment partner, EY.

  • You will receive a proposed assessment
  • Confirm your date by accepting the calendar invitation
  • If the date is not suitable, you may request an alternative however availability cannot be guaranteed

Assessors are automatically assigned, but if you identify a conflict on interest please contact our team as soon as possible.

Preparing for your assessment

Preparing early will help ensure a smooth assessment process.

A new look Knowledge Hub will provide practical implementation guidance to support you in aligning your pharmacy with QSPP requirements.

Before your assessment:

  • Review the Australian Community Pharmacy Standard AS85000:2024
  • Review the program rules and terms and conditions
  • Familiarise yourself with the QSPP User Assessment Guide
  • Ensure policies, procedures and governance arrangements  demonstrate compliance with AS85000:2024
  • Prepare evidence demonstrating that systems operate effectively in practice
  • Ensure relevant staff are available on assessment day

The assessment focuses on how quality and safety are embedded in everyday practice, not just whether documentation exists.

What to expect on the day

On the day of the assessment, the assessor will:

  • Hold an opening discussion
  • Review documentation and records
  • Observe practice in key areas aligning with your service level
  • Speak with staff about procedures and governance
  • Provide a summary of findings at a closing meeting

After your assessment

After your assessment, you’ll receive an Interim Report via the Customer Portal.

The report will outline any major and minor non-conformances to be addressed before accreditation can be confirmed.

To maintain accreditation across the three-year cycle, pharmacies must continue to embed governance, training and quality systems into day-to-day operations.
